   1-2-8-9-10-Reverse Clutch Backing Plate Retaining Ring-Selective (1) - Measure

2. Use all of the clutch plates except the clutch plate return springs. Using GE-8001  Dial Indicator (2), set up the measurement as shown.
   NOTE:

   Take readings 3 inches away from snap ring ends to ensure accurate readings.

3. Zero out the GE-8001  Dial Indicator (2), then lift the clutch plate stack upwards and record the measurement.
4. Repeat the measurement every 120 degrees from the measurement in step 3, completing 3 measurements.
5. Find the average of these three measurements from step 3 and step 4. Record this as the clutch travel. Use this number to find the correct 1-2-8-9-10-reverse clutch backing plate retaining ring (1).
