Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. For cylinder head assemble. Refer to Cylinder Head Assemble (LT4) .
  2. Clean any debris or residual fastener thread sealant from the engine block cylinder head bolt holes to ensure proper torque or clamp load.
  3. Install the cylinder head. Refer to Cylinder Head Installation - Left Side .
  4. Install the ground wire and bolt at the rear of the cylinder head. Tighten the bolt to 15 N.m (11 lb ft)
  5. Install the exhaust manifold to cylinder head bolts. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Replacement - Left Side (LT1, LT4) .
  6. Install the spark plugs. Refer to Gas Engine Ignition Spark Plug Replacement .
  7. Install the valve rocker arms and push rods. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm and Push Rod Replacement .
  8. Install the supercharger and gasket. Refer to Compressor Air Intake Supercharger and Gasket Replacement .
  9. Install the supercharger belt tensioner bracket. Refer to Supercharger Belt Tensioner Bracket Replacement 
  10. Install the plenum front panel. Refer to Plenum Front Panel Replacement (LT1 LT4)
  11. Refill the intercooler cooling system. Refer to Charge Air Cooling System Draining and Filling (LT4) .
  12. Refill the engine cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) .
  13. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
