Input Shaft on the Forward Clutch Assembly (106) Inspect for damage, wear or misalignment in the case. Replace the forward clutch housing assembly (302). Forward Clutch Assembly Disassemble
Reverse Sun Gear (308) and Reverse Sun Gear Thrust Bearing (307) Inspect gear for wear. Inspect bearing for damage or wear. Forward Clutch Assembly Disassemble
Front Differential Carrier Assembly (23) Inspect for damage. Replace the front differential carrier assembly (23). Front Differential Carrier Removal
Front Differential Drive Pinion Gear Assembly (8) Inspect for broken or damaged teeth. Front Differential Drive Pinion Gear with Transfer Gear Removal
Forward Clutch Housing Fluid Seal Ring (160, 161) Inspect for cut or damage - causing leaking past the seal. Replace the seals (160, 161). Transmission Fluid Pump Disassemble
Pump Drive Sprocket (150) Inspect for worn or broken teeth - causing loss of hydraulic power from drive link failure. Replace the pump drive sprocket (150). Transmission Fluid Pump Disassemble
Pump Driven Sprocket (192) Inspect for worn or broken teeth - causing loss of hydraulic power from drive link failure. Replace the pump driven sprocket (192). Transmission Fluid Pump Disassemble
Drive Link Assembly (151) Inspect for stretched, worn or damaged chain links. Replace the drive link assembly (151). Transmission Fluid Pump Disassemble
Pinion Gear and/or Transfer Gear Teeth on the Front Differential Drive Pinion Gear Assembly (8) Inspect for broken or damaged teeth. Replace the front differential drive pinion gear assembly (8). Front Differential Drive Pinion Gear with Transfer Gear Removal
Forward Clutch Apply Plate (310) Inspect for wear, broken splines or damage. Replace the forward clutch backing plate (310). Forward Clutch Assembly Disassemble
Retaining Ring (306, 314) for the Forward Clutch Inspect for damage, looseness, or not holding. Replace the retaining ring (306, 314). Forward Clutch Assembly Disassemble
Forward Clutch Plate Assemblies (309, 311, 312) Inspect for worn splines or friction material. Replace the forward clutch plate assemblies (309, 311, 312). Forward Clutch Assembly Disassemble
Forward Clutch Piston Assembly (303), Spring (304) and Dam Assembly (305) Inspect for cut or rolled seals. Replace the forward clutch piston assembly (303), spring (304) and dam assembly (305). Forward Clutch Assembly Disassemble
Transmission Fluid Pump Assembly (104) Inspect for internal damage - causing low or no pressure at the discharge port. Repair or replace the transmission fluid pump assembly (104). Transmission Fluid Pump Disassemble
Fluid Filter Assembly (181) Inspect for clog, damage, loose or improper sealing. Replace the fluid filter assembly (181). Transmission Fluid Pump Disassemble
Torque Converter (16) Inspect for:
  • Damaged lugs or sheared lug bolts
  • Worn or damaged internal hub splines

Torque Converter Removal
Fluid Filter Assembly (1) Inspect for clog, damage, loose or improper scaling. Replace fluid filter assembly (1). Automatic Transmission Fluid Filter Removal
Pump Driven Sprocket Retaining Ring (193) Inspect for loose, damaged or ring not holding. Replace the retaining ring (193). Transmission Fluid Pump Disassemble
Pressure Regulator Valve Train Inspect for:
  • Worn, sticking or binding valve (221)
  • Worn, sticking or shuttle valve (222)
  • Worn, sticking or damaged spring (220)
  • Damaged or incorrectly installed bore plug retainer (224)
  • Worn or damaged bore bushing (223)

Control Valve Body Cleaning and Inspection
Manual Valve (234) Inspect for wear, sticking or binding. Control Valve Body Cleaning and Inspection
Control Valve Body (200) Inspect for porosity, damage, or contamination with debris. Replace or flush the control valve body (200). Control Valve Body Cleaning and Inspection
