Removal Procedure

Remove the battery tray. Battery Tray Replacement (LFV)
Engine Control Module - Remove - Engine Control Module Replacement
Transmission Fluid - Drain - Transmission Fluid Drain and Fill

Automatic Transmission Range Selector Lever Cable Bolt (1) - Remove
Slide the retainer lock (2) forward to expose the cable adjustment retainer (3).
Using a suitable tool, raise the cable adjustment retainer (3) to the unlock position.
Remove the range selector lever cable (4) from the range selector lever cable lever and the range selector lever cable bracket.

Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Tube (3) - Remove - Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Tube Replacement

Disconnect the electrical connector (1).
Remove the transmission control module bracket (2). Transmission Control Module Bracket Replacement

Remove the battery negative cable (1) from the transmission.
Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet Pipe @ Transmission - Remove - Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet Pipe Replacement (LFV with MRG (at the air conditioning condenser bracket)) , or Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet Pipe Replacement (LFV with MRG (from the transmission to the transmission fluid cooler inlet pipe))
Transmission Fluid Cooler Outlet Pipe@Transmission - Remove - Transmission Fluid Cooler Outlet Pipe Replacement (LFV with MRG)
Plug and/or cap the pipes and the transmission to prevent contamination.
Remove the starter/generator battery cable retainer from the transmission stud.

Remove the transmission bolt (1).
Remove the transmission stud (2).
Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle - Remove - Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle Removal and Installation (LFV)

Disconnect the right wheel drive shaft from the transmission. Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft Replacement - Right Side (LFV)
Disconnect the left wheel drive shaft from the transmission. Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft Replacement - Left Side (MRG)
Remove the heater coolant pump, then position out of the way. Heater Coolant Pump Replacement (LFV) , or Heater Coolant Pump Replacement (LFV with MRG)
Starter - Remove - Starter Replacement (LFV)

Remove the ground wire bolt (1).
Mark the relationship of the flywheel to the torque converter for reassembly.

Remove and DISCARD the torque converter bolts (1).

Catalytic Converter Brace Bracket-Upper LFV - Remove - Catalytic Converter Brace Bracket Replacement (Lower LFV) , or Catalytic Converter Brace Bracket Replacement (Upper LFV)
Catalytic Converter Brace Bracket-Lower LFV - Remove - Catalytic Converter Brace Bracket Replacement (Lower LFV) , or Catalytic Converter Brace Bracket Replacement (Upper LFV)
Lower the vehicle.
Engine Support Fixture - Install - Engine Support Fixture

Remove the left transmission mount (5) from the transmission. Transmission Mount Replacement (Left Side)
Disconnect the transmission wiring harness pass-through solenoid electrical connector.
Position the underhood wire harness out of the way.
Raise the vehicle.
Use a transmission jack in order to support the transmission.
Strap the transmission to the jack.

Remove the 4 transmission bolts (1).
Remove the transmission converter cover (2).

NOTE:

Ensure the torque converter remains securely in place on the transmission input shaft while separating and removing the transmission.

Separate the transmission from the engine.
Lower the transmission with the transmission jack far enough to remove the transmission.
Remove the transmission from under the vehicle.
Transfer components as necessary.
