Removal Procedure

WARNING:

Always perform the High Voltage Disabling procedure prior to servicing any High Voltage component or connection. Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and proper procedures must be followed.

The High Voltage Disabling procedure will perform the following tasks:

  • Identify how to disable high voltage.
  • Identify how to test for the presence of high voltage.
  • Identify condition under which high voltage is always present and personal protection equipment (PPE) and proper procedures must be followed.

Failure to follow the procedures exactly as written may result in serious injury or death.

  1. Disable the high voltage system. High Voltage Disabling
  2. Drain the cooling system. Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE-47716) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static)

    Intake Manifold Cover (1) - Remove - Intake Manifold Cover Replacement

  4. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct - Remove - Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement

    Heater Coolant Pump Hose - Inlet (2) @ Heater Coolant Pump - Remove - Heater Coolant Pump Hose Replacement (Inlet) , or Heater Coolant Pump Hose Replacement (Outlet) , or Heater Coolant Pump Hose Replacement (Pump Inlet LKN) , or Heater Coolant Pump Hose Replacement (Pump Outlet LKN)

    Heater Coolant Pump Hose - Outlet (2) @ Heater Coolant Pump - Remove - Heater Coolant Pump Hose Replacement (Inlet) , or Heater Coolant Pump Hose Replacement (Outlet) , or Heater Coolant Pump Hose Replacement (Pump Inlet LKN) , or Heater Coolant Pump Hose Replacement (Pump Outlet LKN) 

  7. Electrical Connector@Heater Coolant Pump - Disconnect

    High Voltage Air Conditioning Compressor Module Cable Retainer (2) @ Heater Water Auxiliary Pump Bracket - Remove

  9. Engine Wiring Harness Retainer (1) @ Heater Water Auxiliary Pump Bracket - Remove

    Heater Coolant Pump Bracket Bolt (1) @ Transmission - Remove

  11. Heater Coolant Pump (2) - Remove

    Engine Coolant Heater Pump Bracket Nut (3) - Remove
