Radiator Surge Tank Replacement (LKN)

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Drain the cooling system. Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE-47716) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static) 
  2. Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose @ Radiator Surge Tank - Remove - Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose Replacement (LKN Radiator Surge Tank to Water Outlet to Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler Outlet Pipe) 
  3. Heater Coolant Pump Hose @ Radiator Surge Tank - Remove - Heater Coolant Pump Hose Replacement (Inlet) , or Heater Coolant Pump Hose Replacement (Outlet) , or Heater Coolant Pump Hose Replacement (Pump Inlet LKN) , or Heater Coolant Pump Hose Replacement (Pump Outlet LKN)
1 Radiator Surge Tank Bolt
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .


Tighten 
9 N.m (80 lb in)
2 Radiator Surge Tank

Procedure

  1. Fill the cooling system to the proper level. Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE-47716) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static) 
  2. Start the engine and check for coolant leaks.
