Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

For cylinder head assembly, refer to Cylinder Head Assemble .
Clean any debris or residual fastener thread sealant from the engine block cylinder head bolt holes to ensure proper torque or clamp load.

Install a NEW cylinder head gasket (1).
Install cylinder head (2).
Hand start NEW cylinder head bolts (3, 4).
tighten cylinder head bolts in sequence. Cylinder Head Installation - Right Side
Install the valve rocker arm and push rod. Valve Rocker Arm and Push Rod Replacement

Exhaust Manifold (1) -Right Side - Install - Exhaust Manifold Replacement - Right Side (LV1)

NOTE:
Radiator shroud is removed for graphic clarity.

Generator Mounting Bolt (2) - Install - Generator Replacement (LV1 with K68) , or Generator Replacement (LV1 with KW5/KG4) [2x]
Connect electrical connectors as necessary.

Fuel Rail (1) -Right Side - Install - Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly Replacement - Bank 2
Refill the cooling system. Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static LC8, LV1, L96) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE47716 LC8, LV1, L96)
