Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

NOTE:

High pressure fuel feed pipes are one time use only. ALWAYS install a NEW high pressure fuel feed pipe if the pipe is removed OR the fittings are loosened.

Relieve the fuel system pressure. Fuel Pressure Relief

Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe - Remove and DISCARD - Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe Replacement

Electrical Connector (1) - Disconnect

Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Fastener (1) - Remove [3x]

NOTE:
If tool EN-49248-3 remover hooks still has roll pin T-handle installed, remove with suitable tool.

NOTE:
The EN-49248-3 remover hooks MUST be properly seated on the underside of the fuel injection fuel rail. The flat EN-49248-4 remover hooks will NOT work for this application.

Install the EN-49248 remover components (1) and slowly work the fuel injection fuel rail (2) upwards in small, even increments. Use suitable tool to rotate EN-49248-3 remover hooks.
Once the fuel injection fuel rail (2) is free, remove the EN-49248 remover components (1).

NOTE:

Whenever ANY fuel injector is removed from the cylinder head or the fuel injection fuel rail, the fuel injector MUST be rebuilt.

Rebuild ALL of the fuel injectors. Fuel Rail and Injectors Cleaning and Inspection
