Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe Replacement

NOTE:

High pressure fuel feed pipes are one time use only. ALWAYS install a NEW high pressure fuel feed pipe if the pipe is removed OR the fittings are loosened.

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Fuel Pressure Relief 
  2. Engine Rear Noise Shield Replacement 
1 Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe Fitting [3x]

Procedure

  1. Ensure ALL fittings are clean and dry prior to assembly.
  2. Lubricate the fuel feed intermediate pipe fittings with silicon free engine oil. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
  3. Tighten the fuel feed intermediate pipe fittings in the sequence shown in the graphic.

Tighten 
28 N.m (21 lb ft)
2 Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe

Procedure

  1. Remove and DISCARD the pipe.
  2. Inspect for leaks using the following procedure:
    1. Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF for 2 seconds.
    2. Turn OFF the ignition for 10 seconds.
    3. Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF.
    4. Inspect for fuel leaks.
NOTE:

If a fuel leak occurs at the fuel pump or the fuel injection fuel rail fittings, the corresponding component will need to be replaced.
