Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the seat mounting bolts from both seats and reposition the seats for access. Refer to Front Seat Removal and Installation .
  2. Remove the left front floor console extension panel. Refer to Front Floor Console Extension Panel Replacement - Left Side (Cadillac) .
  3. Remove the right front floor console extension panel. Refer to Front Floor Console Extension Panel Replacement - Right Side (Chevrolet / GMC) Front Floor Console Extension Panel Replacement - Right Side (Cadillac) .
  4. Remove the instrument panel lower trim plate applique. Refer to Instrument Panel Lower Trim Plate Applique Replacement (Cadillac) .

    Use a flat bladed plastic trim tool to release the left and right front floor console side trim panel (1) from the front floor console assembly.

    Remove the front floor console bolts (1) and (2).

  7. Disconnect all electrical connectors.
  8. With the aid of an assistant lift the floor console (3) rearward and upward away from the instrument panel assembly.
  9. Transfer components as necessary.
