Installation Procedure

    NOTE:

    Ensure the gasket and the O-ring seals are removed from the vehicle.

    Install a NEW gasket. (2)

  2. Install a NEW O-ring seal. (1) [2x]

    Install the power brake booster. (1)

  4. CAUTION:

    Refer to:Fastener Caution .

  5. Power Brake Booster Bolt (2)@Power Brake Booster (1) - Tighten [2x] 25 N.m (18 lb ft)

    Install the NEW click fit connector (1) to the brake pedal (2).

    NOTE:

    Be careful with the brake pedal position sensor - not shown.

    Connect the brake booster push rod (1) to the brake pedal.

    NOTE:

    Do not deform any brake pipes.

    Carefully install the brake pressure modulator valve with the brake pressure modulator valve bracket (2) and the brake pressure modulator valve pipes (4) as assembly to the vehicle.

  9. WARNING:

    Make sure brake pipes are correctly connected to brake pressure modulator valve. If brake pipes are switched by mistake, wheel lockup will occur and personal injury may result. The only two ways this condition can be detected are by using a Scan Tool or by doing an Antilock stop.

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

    NOTE:

    Remove the caps from the brake pipe fittings.

  10. Brake Pipe Fitting (3)@Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (2) - Install and tighten [4x] 20 N.m (15 lb ft)
  11. Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Bracket Bolt (1) - Install and tighten 20 N.m (15 lb ft)

    NOTE:

    Ensure all passages of the vacuum pipe are clean and free of debris prior to installation.

    { If equipped } Vacuum Check Valve (2)@Power Brake Booster (1) - Connect

  13. { If equipped } Brake Booster Vacuum Sensor@Power Brake Booster (1) - Connect - Power Brake Booster Vacuum Sensor Replacement 
  14. Brake Master Cylinder Replacement  - Install
  15. Engine Control Module and Electronic Brake Control Module Bracket Replacement - Install
  16. Dash Upper Extension Panel Opening Cover Replacement - Install
  17. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection - Connect
  18. Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding
