Removal Procedure
WARNING:
Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Warning .
CAUTION:
Refer to Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Caution .
- Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection - Disconnect
- Dash Upper Extension Panel Opening Cover Replacement - Remove
Radiator Surge Tank Clip (2) - Remove
- Radiator Surge Tank (1) - Reposition away
Disconnect the brake fluid level indicator switch plug (1) from the brake fluid level indicator switch (2).
- If equipped, remove the brake fluid return hose (3) from the brake fluid reservoir (4).
- NOTE:
Plug the brake master cylinder outlet ports and the brake pressure modulator inlet ports to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
Remove the brake pressure modulator valve secondary pipe (2) from the brake master cylinder (3).
- Remove the brake pressure modulator valve primary pipe (1) from the brake master cylinder (3).
Remove and DISCARD the 2 brake master cylinder nuts (3) from the brake master cylinder (1).
- Remove the brake master cylinder (1) and the master cylinder reservoir (2) from the power brake booster (4).
- Remove the master cylinder reservoir from the master cylinder. Refer to Brake Master Cylinder Reservoir Replacement .
NOTE:
Do NOT disconnect the engine coolant hoses.
