1	1-2-8-9-10-Reverse Clutch Backing Plate Retaining Ring-Selective Procedure Use all of the clutch plates except the clutch plate return springs. Using GE-8001 Dial Indicator, set up the measurement as shown. NOTE: Take readings 3 inches away from snap ring ends to ensure accurate readings. Zero out the GE-8001 Dial Indicator, then lift the clutch plate stack upwards and record the measurement. Repeat the measurement every 120 degrees from the measurement in step 2, completing 3 measurements. Find the average of these three measurements from step 2 and step 3. Record this as the clutch travel. Use this number to find the correct clutch backing plate.
