Zero out the dial indicator, then lift the clutch plate stack upwards and record the measurement. Repeat the measurement every 120 degrees from the measurement in step 2, completing 3 measurements. Find the average of these three measurements from step 2 and step 3. Record this as the clutch travel. Use this number to find the correct clutch backing plate. Procedure

Use all of the clutch plates. Using GE-8001 dial indicator, set up the measurement as shown.
Zero out the dial indicator, then lift the clutch plate stack upwards and record the measurement.
Repeat the measurement every 120 degrees from the measurement in step 2, completing 3 measurements.
