Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2017 Chevrolet Spark. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the NEW O-ring (1) to the terminal assembly.

  2. Connect the terminal assembly connector and Install the terminal assembly (1) to the control valve body.

  3. Check that the terminal assembly wiring (1) is not entangled with the terminal assembly bracket (2).

  4. Install the control valve body to the transmission.
  5. Install the 11 control valve body mounting bolts (1) and tighten to 8 N.m (71 lb in)

    CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  6. If equipped with start/stop system, install the NEW O-ring (2) to the sub strainer (3).

  7. If equipped with start/stop system, install the sub strainer (3) to the control valve body.
  8. Install the sub strainer bolt (1) and tighten to 8 N.m (71 lb in).
  9. Install the manual plate (1) and the spring washer (2) to the manual shaft.

    NOTE:
    • To prevent excessive torque application to the manual shaft, tighten nut by fixing the manual plate with a flat-blade screwdriver or an equivalent.
    • To prevent deformation to manual valve, never allow the tool (e.g. screwdriver) to directly touch the manual valve.
  10. Install the manual plate mounting nut (3) and tighten to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).
  11. Install the NEW O-ring (1) to the fluid strainer.

  12. Install the fluid strainer (2) to the control valve body.

  13. Install the 3 fluid strainer mounting bolts (1) and tighten to 8 N.m (71 lb in).
  14. Install the control valve body cover. Refer to Control Valve Body Cover Replacement .
  15. Align the marking (1) on the transmission harness connector terminal with the marking (2) on bayonet ring (3) to insert the connector.

  16. Rotate the bayonet ring (3) clockwise until the marking (1) on the transmission harness connector terminal body is aligned with the slit (2) on bayonet ring.

    NOTE:
    • Securely align the marking on the harness connector terminal body with the bayonet ring slit. Then, be careful not to make a half fit condition.
    • Never mistake the slit of the bayonet ring for other dent portion.
  17. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  18. Fill the transmission fluid. Refer to Transmission Fluid Drain and Fill (Maintenance) Transmission Fluid Drain and Fill (Repair) .
  19. Perform the transmission service fast learn procedure. Refer to Transmission Service Fast Learn Procedure (MR8) .
