Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  2. Reposition the radiator surge tank. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Replacement .
  3. Remove the catalytic converter heat shield. Refer to Catalytic Converter Heat Shield Replacement (LV7) .
  4. Remove the 2 thermostat bypass pipe bolts (2).

  5. Remove and DISCARD the thermostat bypass pipe gasket (1).
  6. Remove the clamp (2).

  7. Remove the thermostat bypass pipe bolt (1).
  8. Remove the thermostat bypass pipe (3).
