Removal Procedure

  1. Remove Intake Manifold Cover - Intake Manifold Cover Replacement 
  2. Fig 1: Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose Clamp

  3. Disconnect and reposition the engine coolant air bleed hose (2) as necessary. Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose Replacement (Radiator Surge Tank to Radiator to Engine Coolant Air Bleed Pipe LTG)
  4. Remove Fuel Feed Front Pipe - Fuel Feed Front Pipe Replacement
  5. Remove Air Cleaner Outlet Duct -Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (Non-Tamperproof)Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (Tamperproof)
  6. Remove Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Solenoid Valve -Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Solenoid Valve Replacement
  7. Remove Throttle Body Assembly - Throttle Body Assembly Replacement
  8. Disconnect Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose @ Engine Coolant Air Bleed Pipe - Engine Coolant Air Bleed Pipe Replacement (LTG)

  10. Disconnect Electrical Connector (1)
  11. Disconnect Electrical Connector (2)
  12. Disconnect Electrical Connector (3)
  13. Disconnect Wiring Harness Retainer (4) [3x]
  14. Reposition away Engine Wiring Harness (5)
  15. Raise the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle

  17. Remove the wiring harness retainers (1), then reposition the harness (2) as needed.

    NOTE:

    The intake manifold bolts are retained in the intake manifold. Fully loosen the bolts until the threads are disengaged from the cylinder head.

  19. Loosen Intake Manifold Bolt (1).
  20. Lower the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
  21. Loosen Intake Manifold Bolt (2) - [5x]
  22. NOTE:

    The fuel injection fuel rail fuel pressure sensor must be removed to obtain enough clearance to remove the intake manifold from the vehicle.

  23. Separate the intake manifold from the engine to gain access to the fuel pressure sensor.
  24. Remove the fuel injection fuel rail fuel pressure sensor. Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Fuel Pressure Sensor Replacement

  26. Install Engine Support Fixture (1, 2, 3, 4. 6, and 7) - Engine Support Fixture

  28. Remove Engine Mount Bolt (1) - [2x] - Engine Mount Replacement 
  29. Lower the front of the engine enough to gain clearance to remove the intake manifold.
  30. Remove Intake Manifold.

  32. Remove Intake Manifold Gasket (1) and DISCARD
  33. Clean and inspect the intake manifold. Intake Manifold Cleaning and Inspection
