Removal Procedure

- Remove Intake Manifold Cover - Intake Manifold Cover Replacement
- Disconnect and reposition the engine coolant air bleed hose (2) as necessary. Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose Replacement (Radiator Surge Tank to Radiator to Engine Coolant Air Bleed Pipe LTG)
- Remove Fuel Feed Front Pipe - Fuel Feed Front Pipe Replacement
- Remove Air Cleaner Outlet Duct -Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (Non-Tamperproof)Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (Tamperproof)
- Remove Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Solenoid Valve -Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Solenoid Valve Replacement
- Remove Throttle Body Assembly - Throttle Body Assembly Replacement
- Disconnect Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose @ Engine Coolant Air Bleed Pipe - Engine Coolant Air Bleed Pipe Replacement (LTG)
- Disconnect Electrical Connector (1)
- Disconnect Electrical Connector (2)
- Disconnect Electrical Connector (3)
- Disconnect Wiring Harness Retainer (4) [3x]
- Reposition away Engine Wiring Harness (5)
- Raise the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
- Remove the wiring harness retainers (1), then reposition the harness (2) as needed.
- Loosen Intake Manifold Bolt (1).
- Lower the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
- Loosen Intake Manifold Bolt (2) - [5x]
- Separate the intake manifold from the engine to gain access to the fuel pressure sensor.
- Remove the fuel injection fuel rail fuel pressure sensor. Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Fuel Pressure Sensor Replacement
- Install Engine Support Fixture (1, 2, 3, 4. 6, and 7) - Engine Support Fixture
- Remove Engine Mount Bolt (1) - [2x] - Engine Mount Replacement
- Lower the front of the engine enough to gain clearance to remove the intake manifold.
- Remove Intake Manifold.
- Remove Intake Manifold Gasket (1) and DISCARD
- Clean and inspect the intake manifold. Intake Manifold Cleaning and Inspection
NOTE:
The intake manifold bolts are retained in the intake manifold. Fully loosen the bolts until the threads are disengaged from the cylinder head.
NOTE:
The fuel injection fuel rail fuel pressure sensor must be removed to obtain enough clearance to remove the intake manifold from the vehicle.
