Removal Procedure

  1. Remove Air Cleaner Assembly - Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement
  2. Remove Camshaft Cover - Camshaft Cover Replacement (1st Design Tamper-Proof PCV System) 
  3. Remove Engine Mount - Engine Mount Replacement 
  4. Remove Crankshaft Balancer - Crankshaft Balancer Replacement 
  5. Remove Drive Belt Tensioner - Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement

  7. Remove Engine Front Cover Bolt (1, 2, 3) and DISCARD

    NOTE:

    The engine front cover bolts vary in lengths. Mark the bolts to ensure they are installed in the correct locations.

  9. Remove Engine Front Cover Bolt (1) [2x]
  10. Remove Engine Front Cover Bolt (2) [12x]
  11. Remove Engine Front Cover Bolt (3) [2x]
  12. Remove Engine Front Cover Bolt (4)
  13. Remove Engine Front Cover (5).
  14. If replacing the engine front cover, remove and DISCARD the crankshaft front oil seal (6) using an appropriate tool.
