- Ignition ON.
- Verify that DTC P00C7, P0071, P0072, P0073, P0074, P007B, P007C, P007D, P007E, P0101, P0102, P0103, P0106, P0107, P0108, P0119, P02E8, P02E9, P0502, P0503, P0722, P0723, P105D, P10D6, P10D7, P10D8, P122D, P16A0, P16A1, P16A2, P2227, P2228, P2229, or P2230 is not set.
- If any of the DTCs are set
Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle for further diagnosis.
- Go to next step: If none of the DTCs are set
- If any of the DTCs are set
- To minimize the effects of residual engine heat and sensor internal heating elements, perform Step 3 of this verification procedure only if the ignition has been OFF for 8 hours or more.
- The vehicle sitting in direct sun light or having the block heater ON will skew the results.
- Verify the following scan tool parameters are within 10°C (18°F) of each other.
- Charge Air Cooler Temperature
- Charge Air Cooler Outlet Temperature
- Ambient Air Temperature
- If not within 10°C (18°F)
Refer to DTC P007C-P007E ; for further diagnosis of the Charge Air Cooler Inlet Temperature Sensor.
Refer to DTC P10D6-P10D8 ; for further diagnosis of the Charge Air Cooler Outlet Temperature Sensor.
Refer to DTC P0071-P0074 ; for further diagnosis of the Ambient Air Temperature Sensor.
- Go to next step: If within 10°C (18°F)
- Road test the vehicle under various operating conditions.
- Verify the following scan tool parameters change temperature.
- Charge Air Cooler Temperature
- Charge Air Cooler Outlet Temperature
- If the temperature does not change
Refer to DTC P007C-P007E ; for further diagnosis of the Charge Air Cooler Inlet Temperature Sensor.
Refer to DTC P10D6-P10D8 ; for further diagnosis of the Charge Air Cooler Outlet Temperature Sensor.
- Go to next step: If the temperature changes
- Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC.
- Verify the scan tool parameter Charge Air Cooler Outlet Temperature is cooler than the scan tool parameter Charge Air Cooler Temperature.
- If not cooler
Refer to Circuit/System Testing.
- Go to next step: If cooler
- If not cooler
- Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
Verify the DTC does not set.
- If the DTC sets
Refer to Circuit/System Testing.
- Go to next step: If the DTC does not set
- If the DTC sets
- All OK.
