Installation Procedure

  1. Install the following components on the drivetrain and front suspension frame if removed:
  2. GM2969115
    NOTE:

    Support the drivetrain and front suspension frame with a suitable hydraulic jack.

    Install the front bumper lower impact bar brackets (2).

    3. CAUTION:

    Fastener Caution

  3. Bolt(1) - Install and tighten 160 N.m (118 lb ft)
  4. Front Bumper Lower Impact Bar Bracket Replacement - Install[2x]
  5. GM2969114

    Install both front compartment front panels (3).

  6. Bolt(2) - Install and tighten[4x] 100 N.m (74 lb ft)
  7. Bolt(1) - Install and tighten[2x] 160 N.m (118 lb ft)
  8. GM2190443

    Bolt(4) - Install and tighten[2x] 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  9. Tighten wiring harness retainer (1) to steering gear.
  10. Electrical Connector(3) - Connect[2x]
  11. GM2028084

    Front Transmission Mount Through Bolt(1) - Install and tighten 100 N.m (74 lb ft)

  12. Rear Transmission Mount Through Bolt(2) - Install and tighten 100 N.m (74 lb ft)
  13. Connect the outer tie rods to the steering knuckles.[2x] Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod Replacement
  14. Install 2 upper stabilizer shaft link nut. Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement
  15. Install the lower ball joint in the steering knuckle. Lower Control Arm Replacement
  16. GM2028081

    Install the wheel speed sensor wiring harness (2) to the frame on both sides.

  17. Install the wiring harness retainers (3) to the frame and the lower control arm.
  18. Install the radiator wiring harness (1) to the frame.
  19. Install the wiring harness retainers (4) to the frame.
  20. Exhaust Pipe Front Hanger Bracket Replacement - Install
  21. Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement - Install
  22. Underbody Brace Replacement - Middle X-Rod  - Install
  23. Underbody Brace Replacement - Front  - Install
  24. Front Bumper Fascia Extension Replacement - Install
  25. Install the front tire and wheel assemblies. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
  26. Steering Column Dash Inner Seal Replacement - Install
  27. Align the match marks and connect the intermediate steering shaft to the steering gear pinion shaft. Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement
  28. Remove the support of the radiator and condenser.
  29. Measure and adjust the wheel alignment. Wheel Alignment Measurement .
