Removal Procedure

WARNING:

Replace the passenger presence system as a complete assembly to prevent possible injury to the occupant. The bladder, the pressure sensor, the seat cushion, and the control module are assembled and calibrated as a unit. Using only some of the components in the service kit will cause the passenger presence system to operate improperly.

  1. Remove the driver or passenger seat. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Removal and Installation .
  2. Remove the driver or passenger seat inner recliner finish cover. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Inner Recliner Finish Cover Replacement .
  3. Remove the front seat cushion side finish panel. Refer to Front Seat Cushion Side Finish Panel Replacement .
  4. GM2027608

    Detach the driver or passenger seat back cushion cover on the lower rearside of the backrest.

  5. Release and disconnect the backrest wiring harness plug (1), if equipped.
  6. Remove the 4 front seat backrest bolts (2).
  7. Remove the backrest from the seat.
  8. GM2027611

    Detach the driver or passenger seat cushion cover (1) from the seat frame (3) all way round.

  9. Remove the driver or passenger seat cushion cover along with the pad from the seat frame.
  10. Remove the driver or passenger seat cushion cover (1) from the pad (2), remove hogrings.
