Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- Clean all sealing surfaces.
- Apply approximately a 3 mm (0.12 in) thick bead of oil pan sealant (1) to the oil pan. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants and Sealers for the recommended sealant.
NOTE:
- The lower crankcase surface must be free of contamination prior to applying the sealer.
- Install and align the oil pan to block within 10 minutes of applying the sealer.
- The oil pan must be fastened to final torque specification within 60 minutes of applying the sealer.
- Oil Pan (3) - Install
NOTE: Mark the position of the oil pan bolts because of different length.
- Oil Pan Bolt (2) - Loosely install [10x]
- Oil Pan Bolt (1) - Loosely install [3x]
- Tighten bolts (1 and 2) in a pattern that seals the oil pan evenly.CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
Tighten
- Oil Pan Bolt (2) - Tighten [10x] 10 N.m (89 lb in)
- Oil Pan Bolt (1) - Tighten [3x] 10 N.m (89 lb in)
- Transmission Mount Strut Bracket - Install Transmission Mount Strut Bracket Replacement
- Transmission Bolt (1) - Install and tighten 58 N.m (43 lb ft) [2x]
- Exhaust Rear Bracket - Install Exhaust Rear Bracket Replacement (LKN)
- Exhaust Heat Exchanger - Install Exhaust Heat Exchanger Replacement (LKN)
- Front Wheelhouse Liner - Right Side Install Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement
- Change the engine oil and filter. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement
