Removal Procedure

  1. Intake Manifold Cover - Remove Intake Manifold Cover Replacement
  2. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static)Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716)
  3. Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose (3) @ Water Outlet - Disconnect Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose Replacement (LKN Radiator Surge Tank to Water Outlet to Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler Outlet Pipe)

  4. Disconnect the automatic transmission range selector lever cable (1) from the automatic transmission range selector lever cable lever and automatic transmission range selector lever cable bracket (2). Refer to Range Selector Lever Cable Replacement

  5. Electrical Connector (1) - Disconnect

  6. Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Retainer (1) - Unclip

  7. Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (2) - Remove
  8. Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Seal (3) - Inspect the seal and replace if necessary.
    NOTE: The seal is reusable, inspect the seal and replace if damaged.
