WARNING: Refer to Gasoline/Gasoline Vapors Warning . Preliminary Procedure Relieve the fuel pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief . Remove the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement (LKW) and Intake Manifold Cover Replacement (LTG) . Remove the air cleaner resonator and outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Resonator and Outlet Duct Replacement (LKW) . Remove the fuel pump cover. Refer to Fuel Pump Cover Replacement .
1	Fuel Pump Intermediate Pipe Fittings (Qty: 2) CAUTION: Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Caution . Procedure Hand start both ends of the NEW fuel feed intermediate pipe (2). Tighten Tighten the fitting nut to the fuel rail to 15 N.m (11 lb ft). Tighten the fitting nut to the fuel pump to 15 N.m (11 lb ft). Tighten the fitting nut to the fuel rail a final pass to 30 N.m (22 lb ft). Tighten the fitting nut to the fuel pump a final pass to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).
2	Fuel Pump Intermediate Pipe NOTE: The threaded fuel pipes are one time use, always install a NEW fuel pump intermediate pipe.

Preliminary Procedure

Relieve the fuel pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief .
Remove the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement (LKW) and Intake Manifold Cover Replacement (LTG) .
Remove the air cleaner resonator and outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Resonator and Outlet Duct Replacement (LKW) .
Remove the fuel pump cover. Refer to Fuel Pump Cover Replacement .

Fuel Pump Intermediate Pipe Fittings (Qty: 2)

CAUTION: Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Caution .

Procedure
Hand start both ends of the NEW fuel feed intermediate pipe (2).
Tighten

Tighten the fitting nut to the fuel rail to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).
Tighten the fitting nut to the fuel pump to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).
Tighten the fitting nut to the fuel rail a final pass to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).
Tighten the fitting nut to the fuel pump a final pass to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).
