Balancing Procedure

The service compressor contains 40 ml (1.4 oz) of compressor manufacturers OE PAG Oil. Service only with GM PAG oil. Refer to Approximate Fluid Capacities for the vehicle specific oil requirements.
If the sum of the amount of oil drained from the removed compressor and the amount of oil removed during refrigerant recovery is:
- Less than 40 ml (1.4 oz), no balancing is required. Install the replacement compressor as it is. It contains 40 ml (1.4 oz) oil. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (2.0L Diesel LUZ) , Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (1.4L LUV) and Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (1.8L LUW and LWE) .
- More than 40 ml (1.4 oz), additional oil is required. Subtract 40 ml (1.4 oz) from the sum of removed oil (oil drained and oil recovered). Add this amount of service oil to the replacement compressor.
