Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (2.0L Diesel LUZ)

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  3. Remove the generator, the air conditioning compressor and the power steering pump belt. Refer to Generator, Air Conditioning Compressor and Power Steering Pump Belt Replacement .
  4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  5. Remove the charge air cooler inlet air hose. Refer to Charge Air Cooler Inlet Air Hose Replacement .
  6. Loosen the air conditioning compressor and the condenser hose from the air conditioning compressor. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor and Condenser Hose Replacement (2.0L Diesel LUZ) .
1 Air Conditioning Compressor Bolt (Qty: 3)
CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .

Tighten 
22 N.m (16 lb ft)
2 Air Conditioning Compressor

Procedure

  1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  2. Use a low viscosity, poly-alkylene glycol (PAG) oil. Use of the incorrect oil can result in compressor failure.
  3. When replacing the A/C compressor, balance the compressor oil. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Oil Balancing .
  4. Using GE-39400-A  detector leak test A/C compressor fittings.
