Positive Crankcase Ventilation Oil Separator Assembly Installation

Special Tools

For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools .

  1. Install the positive crankcase ventilation oil separator hose (7) to the positive crankcase oil separator (6) with clamp (5).

  2. Install the positive crankcase ventilation tube (1) to the positive crankcase ventilation oil separator hose (7) with clamp (5).
  3. Tighten the 2 clamps (5), using the CH-48894  pliers.
  4. Install the positive crankcase ventilation hose (2) to the positive crankcase ventilation tube (1) with clamp (4).
  5. Install the positive crankcase ventilation heater (3) to the positive crankcase ventilation hose (2) with clamp (4).
  6. Tighten the 2 clamps (4), using the CH-48894  pliers.
  7. Loosely install the positive crankcase ventilation oil separator unit on top of the engine.
  8. Install NEW seal rings (6).

  9. Install the PCV oil separator (4) to the engine.
    NOTE: Ensure that the positive crankcase ventilation oil separator is in correct position inside of the oil pan.
    NOTE: Current laws require these fasteners only to be replaced with new tamper resistant fasteners identified specifically for this component. Refer to the Electronic Parts Catalog.
  10. Use EN-50956  bit and install the 2 positive crankcase ventilation oil separator bolts (5) and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
    CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  11. Tighten the upper positive crankcase ventilation oil separator bolt to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
  12. Install the positive crankcase ventilation tube (3) with PCV heater and tighten the bolts (2) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
