Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2015 Chevrolet Trax and 2015 Buick Encore. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Clean the sealing surfaces.
Install a NEW gasket (1).
- Install Water Pump (2).
- Install the 2 NEW front cover bolts (1, 8).
- Install the remaining 8 bolts (2-7, 9, 10).CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .
CAUTION:Refer to Torque-to-Yield Fastener Caution .
- Tighten the 5 water pump bolts (3-5, 7, 9) and the 5 engine front cover bolts (1, 2, 6, 8, 10) in a cross sequence to 8 N.m(71 lb in).
- Tighten ONLY the 2 front cover bolts (1, 8) to an additional 30 degrees, using the EN-45059 meter.
- Bolt (1) 60 mm(2.362 in)
- Bolt (8) 52 mm(2.047 in)
- Install the heater outlet hose from the water pump. Refer to Heater Outlet Hose Replacement (LUV) .
- Install the water pump pulley. Refer to Water Pump Pulley Replacement (LUV) .
- Install the engine coolant thermostat to the water pump. Refer to Engine Coolant Thermostat Replacement (LUJ) .
- Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
NOTE:
Mind the different bolt length.
