Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Remove the engine sight shield. Refer to Engine Sight Shield Replacement .
  3. Remove the generator, air conditioning compressor and power steering pump belt. Refer to Generator, Air Conditioning Compressor and Power Steering Pump Belt Replacement .
  4. Remove the generator wiring harness plug (1)

  5. Remove the generator positive cable nut (5) and the generator positive cable.
  6. Remove 2 generator bolts (2).
  7. Loosen the generator support bolt (3).
  8. Lay the generator (4) in a suitable position at the suspension frame.
  9. Lower the vehicle.
  10. Unclip and reposition the heater hoses as necessary to gain access to remove the generator in top direction.
  11. Remove the generator (1) as shown in the graphic.
