Installation Procedure

  1. Position the belt on the rear of the crankshaft pulley. Ensure the belt is properly seated around the crankshaft pulley.

  3. Install the belt installer (1) onto the A/C compressor.
  4. Position the belt (2) onto the installer as shown.

  6. Rotate the belt installer (1) counterclockwise to load tension on the belt (2).
  7. NOTE:

    Before rotating the crankshaft pulley ensure the top of the belt is tight and all the slack in the belt is at the bottom.

  8. Slowly rotate the crankshaft pulley in a counterclockwise direction while using finger pressure to ensure the belt remains on the crankshaft pulley and does not walk off.
  9. Ensure the ribbed area of the belt remains facing rearward and the belt aligns properly to the A/C pulley.
  10. Remove the belt installer.
  11. Rotate the balancer an additional 360 degrees to ensure proper belt installation.
  12. Inspect the belt for proper installation.
  13. Lower the vehicle.
  14. Install the accessory drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement - Accessory (LSA) Drive Belt Replacement - Accessory (LS7) .
  15. Install the supercharger drive belt. Refer to Supercharger Belt Replacement .
