Preliminary Procedure Remove the right insulator panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side Remove the side trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Side Trim Panel Replacement . Remove the lower trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Replacement . In the event that the door is inoperable, manually release the latch. Refer to Opening the Instrument Panel Compartment Door without Electrical Power .
1	Instrument Panel Compartment Bolt (Qty: 6) CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution . Tighten 2.5 (22 lb in)
2	Instrument Panel Compartment Procedure Grasp the lower edge of the compartment and pull outward disengaging the retainers securing the panel to the instrument panel assembly.

Tighten
2.5 (22 lb in)

Procedure
Grasp the lower edge of the compartment and pull outward disengaging the retainers securing the panel to the instrument panel assembly.
