Inflatable Restraint Passenger Presence System Replacement - Front (Yukon and Tahoe Hybrids NOT Denali)

WARNING:

Replace the passenger presence system as a complete assembly to prevent possible injury to the occupant. All the components in the service kit are assembled and calibrated as a unit. Using only some of the components in the service kit will cause the passenger presence system to operate improperly.

Preliminary Procedure

  1. Remove the front seat. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket (without HP2) , Front Seat Replacement - Bucket (with HP2) .
  2. Remove the seat cushion cover and pad. Refer to Seat Cushion Trim Cover and Pad Replacement (without HP2) , Seat Cushion Trim Cover and Pad Replacement (with HP2) .

Procedure

  1. Lay the seat on its side.
  2. Unhook the connector from retainer on seat frame and push up through seat pan.
  3. Disconnect and remove the sensor.
3 Inflatable Restraint Front Passenger Presence Module Rivets (Qty: 2)
Procedure 
Drill out the rivets to remove and install using new rivets.
4 Inflatable Restraint Front Passenger Presence Module

Procedure

  1. The inflatable restraint passenger presence module must be replaced as a kit that also includes the sensor assembly.
  2. Re-zero the Tahoe Hybrid and Yukon Hybrid (not Denali) vehicles ONLY. All other vehicles no re-zero is needed. Re-zero the inflatable restraint passenger presence system whenever the seat cushion or any component of the passenger presence system is removed. Refer to Control Module References .
