Preliminary Procedure
- Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling
.
- Remove the right and left windshield garnish moldings. Refer to Windshield Side Garnish Molding Replacement
.
- Remove the instrument panel upper trim pad bezel. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad Bezel Replacement .
- Remove the front floor console assembly. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement .
- Remove the right and left instrument panel outer trim covers. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover Replacement .
- Remove the left and right instrument panel outer air outlet ducts. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Left Side
and Instrument Panel Outer Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Right Side
.
- Remove the instrument panel cluster assembly. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement
.
- Remove the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement
.
- Remove the turn signal multifunction switch assembly and the wiper washer switch. Refer to Turn Signal Multifunction Switch Replacement
and Windshield Wiper and Washer Switch Replacement
.
- Remove the radio control assembly. Refer to Radio Control Assembly Replacement
.
- Remove the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement
.
- Remove the instrument panel compartment assembly. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement .
- Remove the instrument panel center air outlet grille assembly. Refer to Instrument Panel Center Air Outlet Grille Replacement
.
- Remove the communication interface module and battery. Refer to Communication Interface Module Replacement
and Communication Interface Module Battery Replacement
.
- Disconnect the DLC Connector and hood release handle.
- Remove the instrument cluster heads up display dimmer switch. Refer to Instrument Cluster Head-Up Display Dimmer Switch Replacement
.
- Remove the head lamp switch. Refer to Headlamp, Instrument Panel Lamp Dimmer, and Fog Lamp Switch Replacement
.

Instrument Panel Trim Pad Fasteners (Qty: 12)
Tighten:
2.5 N.m (22 lb in)

Instrument Panel Inflatable Restraint Fasteners (Qty: 2) Tighten:
22 N.m (16 lb ft)

Instrument Panel Trim Pad Assembly Procedure
- Note location and routing of the electrical harnesses in order to ensure proper reinstallation.
- Disconnect the electrical harnesses and connectors.
- When replacing the instrument panel trim pad, transfer all necessary components.
