Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Remove the instrument panel lower trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Remove the HUD, if equipped. Refer to Head-Up Display Replacement .
  3. Remove the radio front floor console speaker, if equipped. Refer to Radio Front Floor Console Speaker Replacement .
  4. Remove the windshield defroster duct. Refer to Windshield Defroster Duct Replacement .
  5. Remove the right side window defogger air outlet duct. Refer to Side Window Defogger Outlet Duct Replacement - Right Side .
  6. Remove the instrument panel electrical center or junction block. Refer to Instrument Panel Electrical Center or Junction Block Replacement .
1 Heater and Air Conditioning Evaporator and Blower Module Nuts (Qty: 4)
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .


Tighten 
9 N.m (80 lb in)
2 Instrument Panel Center Support Brace Bolts (Qty: 2)
Tighten 
22 N.m (16 lb ft)
3 Instrument Panel Nut
Tighten 
6 N.m (53 lb in)
4 Instrument Carrier Bolts (Qty: 4)
Tighten 
25 N.m (18 lb ft)
5 Instrument Carrier Bolts (Qty: 5)
6 Instrument Carrier Support Bolts (Qty: 4)
Tighten 
25 N.m (18 lb ft)
7 Air Distributor Bolt
Tighten 
9 N.m (80 lb in)
8 Instrument Panel Carrier
NOTE:

Prior to removing the carrier assembly, note the routing of the wiring to ensure proper reinstallation.

Procedure

  1. Disconnect all electrical connections.
  2. Prior to removing the carrier assembly, support the HVAC module.
  3. With the aid of an assistant, remove the carrier assembly from the vehicle.
  4. When replacing the carrier assembly, transfer all necessary components.
