Front Floor Upper Console Trim Plate Replacement

NOTE: To prevent component damage, DO NOT use metal tools to remove the trim. Fastener Tightening Specifications: Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications . Preliminary Procedures Place the front floor shifter in the Neutral position. Remove the front floor console cupholder assembly. Refer to Front Floor Console Cup Holder Replacement (Impala) or Front Floor Console Cup Holder Replacement (Monte Carlo) . Tip: For console removal and shift lock actuator access, use ONLY a plastic trim tool to lift the trim plate from the console. Do not use any tool between the trim plate and the shifter. Apply the park brake and shift lever rearward. The sound deadener must be reinstalled if the wire harness is removed or replaced.

Preliminary Procedures

Place the front floor shifter in the Neutral position.
Remove the front floor console cupholder assembly. Refer to Front Floor Console Cup Holder Replacement (Impala) or Front Floor Console Cup Holder Replacement (Monte Carlo) .

Tip:

For console removal and shift lock actuator access, use ONLY a plastic trim tool to lift the trim plate from the console. Do not use any tool between the trim plate and the shifter.
Apply the park brake and shift lever rearward. The sound deadener must be reinstalled if the wire harness is removed or replaced.
