Installation Procedure

  1. Install the right fuel rail fuel feed pipe.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  3. Connect the fuel feed pipe fittings to the left fuel rail.

    Tighten:  Tighten the fittings to 41 N.m (30 lb ft).

  4. Connect the fuel feed pipe to the right fuel rail.

    Tighten:  Tighten the fittings to 41 N.m (30 lb ft).

  5. Install the 2 fuel pipe bracket bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  6. Install the fuel pipe bracket bolt and bracket at front of engine.
  7. Install the fuel rail bracket bolt under the air snorkel.
  8. Position back the fuel line/wire harness at the left front side of the engine and install the bolts.
  9. Install the EGR bracket at the front of engine.
  10. Install the EGR valve. Refer to Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Replacement .
  11. Install the charge air cooler inlet pipe. Refer to Charged Air Cooler Hoses/Pipes Replacement (Inlet) or Charged Air Cooler Hoses/Pipes Replacement (Outlet) .
  12. Prime the fuel system. Refer to Fuel System Priming .
  13. Start the engine.

    If the engine does not start, repeat the above step.

  14. Inspect the fuel system for fuel leaks.
  15. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement .
