Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement .
  2. Remove the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement (6.6L) .
  3. Remove the intake manifold tube. Refer to Intake Manifold Tube Replacement (LLY, LBZ) or Intake Manifold Tube Replacement (LMM) .
  4. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) coolant hose. Refer to Exhaust Gas Recirculation Coolant Hoses/Pipes Replacement (LLY, LBZ) or Exhaust Gas Recirculation Coolant Hoses/Pipes Replacement (LMM) .
  5. Remove the right exhaust pipe. Refer to Exhaust Pipe Replacement - Right Side (6.6L (LBZ/LLY)) or Exhaust Pipe Replacement - Right Side (6.6L (LMM)) .

  7. Compress the clamp and disconnect the EGR heater inlet hose/pipe from the EGR cooler tube.

  9. Remove the EGR cooler tube bracket bolt.
  10. Remove the crankcase ventilation hose/pipe. Refer to Crankcase Ventilation Hoses/Pipes Replacement (LLY, LBZ) or Crankcase Ventilation Hoses/Pipes Replacement (LMM) .

  12. Disconnect the EGR solenoid electrical connector.

  14. Remove the EGR nut (1) and bolt (2).
  15. Remove the EGR valve and EGR cooler tube as an assembly.

  17. On the bench, remove 2 EGR valve to EGR cooler tube bolts.
  18. Separate the EGR cooler tube from the EGR valve.

  20. If necessary, remove the 2 bolts and EGR cooler tube bracket.
