NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices. Fastener Tightening Specifications: Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications . Preliminary Procedures Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (7.0L) in Engine Electrical. Disable the SIR system zones 3, 4, and 5. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 , SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 4 , or SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 5 in SIR. Remove the windshield pillar garnish moldings. Refer to Windshield Side Garnish Molding Replacement in Interior Trim. Remove the defroster grille. Refer to Defroster Grille Replacement . Remove the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement . Remove the instrument panel cluster. Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Replacement . Remove the instrument panel accessory trim plate. Refer to Trim Plate Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Accessory . Remove the right console trim panel. Refer to Console Trim Panel Replacement - Right . Remove the radio assembly. Refer to Radio Replacement in Entertainment. Remove the HVAC controller. Refer to HVAC Control Module Replacement in HVAC Automatic Systems. Remove the instrument panel insulators. Refer to Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Lower . Remove the instrument panel driver knee bolster assembly. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Knee Bolster .
1	Nut, Instrument Panel Assembly Trim Cover (Qty: 4) Tighten: 10 N.m (89 lb in)
2	Screw, Instrument Panel Assembly (Qty: 3) Tighten: 4 N.m (25 lb in)
3	Screw, Instrument Panel Assembly (Qty: 2) Tighten: 4 N.m (25 lb in)
4	Screw, Instrument Panel Assembly (Qty: 1) Tighten: 4 N.m (25 lb in)
5	Screw, Instrument Panel Assembly (Qty: 1) Tighten: 4 N.m (25 lb in)
6	Screw, Instrument Panel Assembly (Qty: 2) Tighten: 4 N.m (25 lb in)
7	Screw, Instrument Panel Assembly (Qty: 1) Tighten: 4 N.m (25 lb in)
8	Screw, Instrument Panel Assembly (Qty: 1) Tighten: 4 N.m (25 lb in)
9	Screw, Instrument Panel Assembly (Qty: 2) Tip: Open the instrument panel compartment to access the screws. Tighten: 4 N.m (25 lb in)
10	Screw, Instrument Panel Assembly (Qty: 2) Tip: Open the instrument panel compartment to access the screws. Tighten: 4 N.m (25 lb in)
11	Instrument Panel Assembly Tip: Lift the instrument panel assembly up and off of the upper and lower tie bars and over the steering column. Remove the instrument panel wiring harness. Remove the instrument panel assembly from the vehicle.
