Test "A": Air Delivery Improper

NOTE: For circuit reference, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  and/or WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
NOTE: Definition: Air does not flow correctly from the air distribution outlets.
  1. Did you review the DESCRIPTION & OPERATION  and perform the necessary inspections? If so, go to next step. If not, see DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
  2. Turn the ignition on, with the engine off. Place the blower motor switch in the OFF position. Is the blower motor off? If so, go to next step. If not, go to BLOWER MOTOR ALWAYS ON .
  3. Place the blower motor switch in each speed position. Does the blower motor operate at all? If so, go to next step. If not, go to BLOWER MOTOR INOPERATIVE .
  4. Does the blower motor operate in each speed position? If so, go to next step. If not, go to BLOWER MOTOR MALFUNCTION .
  5. Start the engine. Place the blower motor switch in the maximum speed position. Place the mode switch in each position. Is the airflow sufficient from the correct outlets in each mode? If so, condition is intermittent. See SYMPTOM DIAGNOSIS  under TROUBLE SHOOTING. If not, see VACUUM CONTROL SYSTEM .
