Wheel Cylinder: Installation

  1. Connect the rear brake cylinder to the vehicle. Install the rear brake cylinder retaining bolts. Tighten the rear brake cylinder retaining bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  2. Connect the brake pipe to the rear brake cylinder. Tighten the rear brake pipe to the rear brake cylinder to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  3. Install the rear brake shoes. See REAR BRAKE SHOES  . Install the rear brake drums. See BRAKE DRUM  .
  4. Remove the pin to the park brake lever. See ENABLING THE PARK BRAKE CABLE AUTOMATIC ADJUSTER  .
  5. Install the tire and the wheel on the vehicle. Tighten to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  6. Bleed the brake system. See BLEEDING, FILLING & FLUSHING BRAKE SYSTEM  . Adjust the rear brakes. See DRUM BRAKE ADJUSTMENT  . Adjust the park brake if necessary. See PARKING BRAKE ADJUSTMENT  .
