Installation Procedure

CAUTION: Do not tip the battery over a 45 degree angle or acid could spill causing serious personal injury.

  1. Install the battery to the vehicle.
    2. CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  2. Install the battery hold down nuts (1) and the battery hold down retainer bracket (2) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  3. Install the positive battery cable terminal nut (1) and tighten to 5 N.m (45 lb in).

  4. Install the ECM bracket, bolts (2) and nuts (1) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
  5. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (HP7) .
  6. Install the generator battery control module cover. Refer to Generator Control Module Cover Replacement .
