Endgate Power Window Inoperative

1 Did you perform the Body Rear End Diagnostic System Check? Go to Step 2  Go to Diagnostic System Check - Body Rear End 
2 Verify that the endgate power window is inoperative.
Does the endgate power window operate normally?
Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems Go to Step 3

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. With a scan tool, command the endgate window UP and DOWN.
Does the endgate window go UP and DOWN?
Go to Step 9  Go to Step 4

  1. With a scan tool, observe the window motor parameter in the End Gate Module data list.
  2. Activate the endgate window switch to UP and DOWN
Does the scan tool display Idle?
Go to Step 12  Go to Step 5

  1. Disconnect the endgate window motor electrical connector.
  2. Probe the endgate window regulator down signal circuit with a test lamp that is connected to a good ground.
  3. With a scan tool, command the endgate window DOWN.
Does the test lamp illuminate?
Go to Step 6  Go to Step 15

  1. Connect a test lamp between the endgate window regulator down signal circuit and the ground circuit of the endgate window motor electrical connector.
  2. With a scan tool, command the endgate window DOWN.
Does the test lamp illuminate?
Go to Step 7  Go to Step 16

  1. Probe the endgate window regulator up signal circuit with a test lamp that is connected to a good ground.
  2. With a scan tool, command the endgate window UP.
Does the test lamp illuminate?
Go to Step 8  Go to Step 17

  1. Connect a test lamp between the endgate window regulator up signal circuit and the ground circuit of the endgate window motor electrical connector.
  2. With a scan tool, command the endgate window UP.
Does the test lamp illuminate?
Go to Step 13  Go to Step 16

  1. With a scan tool, observe the endgate window switch parameter in the Power Roof Module data list.
  2. Activate the endgate window switch to UP and DOWN
Does the scan tool display Idle?
Go to Step 10  Go to Step 12 
10 Test the endgate overhead console switch down signal circuit for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?
Go to Step 21  Go to Step 11 
11 Test the endgate overhead console switch up signal circuit for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?
Go to Step 21  Go to Step 14 
12 Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the endgate module. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?
Go to Step 21  Go to Step 18 
13 Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the endgate window motor. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?

14 Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the endgate window switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

15 Repair the open in the endgate window regulator down signal circuit. Refer toCircuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

16 Repair the open in the ground circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?

17 Repair the open in the endgate window regulator up signal circuit. Refer toCircuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?
Go to Step 21  -

  1. Perform the endgate window learn procedure. Refer to Window Learn Cycle - Endgate 
  2. Replace the endgate module. Refer to Module Rear Body Control Replacement - Endgate  .

  1. Perform the endgate window learn procedure. Refer to Window Learn Cycle - Endgate 
  2. Replace the endgate window regulator. Refer to Window Regulator Replacement - Endgate  .

20 Replace the endgate window switch. Refer to Switch Assembly Replacement - Endgate Window, Midgate Window and Rear Moveable Roof - Overhead Console  .
Did you complete the replacement?

21 Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
Did you correct the condition?
System OK Go to Step 2
