Test Description

  1. 2:  Tests the endgate latch relay coil control circuit.

1 Did you perform the Body Rear End Diagnostic System Check? Go to Step 2  Go to Diagnostic System Check - Body Rear End 
  1. Remove the endgate latch relay.
  2. Connect a test lamp between the endgate latch relay coil control circuit of the endgate latch relay connector and a good ground.
  3. Install a scan tool.
  4. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  5. With a scan tool, command the endgate module to swing endgate.
Does the test lamp illuminate?
Go to Step 4  Go to Step 3 
3 Test the endgate latch relay coil control circuit for a short to ground or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?
Go to Step 8  Go to Step 5 
4 Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the endgate latch relay. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?
Go to Step 8  Go to Step 5 
5 Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the endgate module. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?
Go to Step 8  Go to Step 7 
6 Replace the endgate latch relay. Refer to Wiring Harness Replacement - Endgate  .
Did you complete the replacement?
Go to Step 8  -

  1. Perform the endgate window learn procedure. Refer to Window Learn Cycle - Endgate 
  2. Replace the endgate module. Refer to Module Rear Body Control Replacement - Endgate  .
Did you complete the replacement?
Go to Step 8  -
8
  1. Use the scan tool in order to clear the DTCs.
  2. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC as specified in the supporting text.
Does the DTC reset?
Go to Step 2  System OK
