Horn System Check

  1. Install scan tool. Turn ignition on. Check for any Body Control Module (BCM) or theft deterrent DTCs related to horn operation. If related DTCs exist, go to appropriate procedure for DTC set. See appropriate BODY CONTROL MODULE article. If no DTCs are present, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Remove scan tool. Depress horn switch. If horns sound, go to next step. If horns are inoperative, go to HORNS INOPERATIVE  .
  3. Release horn switch. If horn stops sounding, horn system is okay at this time. If horn continues to sound with horn switch released, go to HORNS ALWAYS ON  .
