Radiator Surge Tank Replacement (L83 L86)

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Vac N Fill L83 L86) Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill L83 L86) .
  2. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
  3. Remove the radiator surge tank inlet hoses from the radiator surge tank. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose Replacement (Surge Tank To Radiator L83 L86) Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose Replacement (Surge Tank To Water Outlet L83 L86) .
  4. Remove the radiator outlet hose from the radiator surge tank. Refer to Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement (L83 L86) .
1 Surge Tank Bolt
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .


Tighten 
10 N.m (89 lb in)
2 Surge Tank Nut
Tighten 
10 N.m (89 lb in)
3 Surge Tank

Procedures

  1. Fill the cooling system to the proper level.
  2. Inspect the cooing system for leaks.
