CAUTION: Use caution when removing the hose from the thermostat housing. The plastic thermostat housing may break if excessive force is used. Preliminary Procedure Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Vac N Fill L83 L86) Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill L83 L86) . Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (Chevrolet and GMC)Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (Cadillac) .
1	Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose Clamps (Qty: 2) Procedure Using BO-38185 hose clamp pliers, reposition the radiator surge tank inlet hose clamps. Special Tools BO-38185 Hose Clamp Pliers For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools .
2	Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose Retainers (Qty: 2) Procedure Remove radiator surge tank inlet hose from retainers.
3	Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose Procedures Fill the cooling system to the proper level. Inspect the cooing system for leaks.
