Front Seat Cushion Cover and Pad Replacement (Without W2E)

Preliminary Procedures

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
2. Remove the driver or passenger seat. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Removal and Installation .
3. Remove the driver or passenger seat inner recliner finish cover. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Inner Recliner Finish Cover Replacement .
4. Remove the front seat cushion outer finish panel. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Cushion Outer Finish Panel Replacement (Without W2E) Driver or Passenger Seat Cushion Outer Finish Panel Replacement (With W2E) .
5. Remove the driver or passenger seat adjuster finish cover retainer. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Adjuster Finish Cover Retainer Replacement .
6. Remove the front seat front extension cushion, if equipped. Refer to Front Seat Front Extension Cushion Replacement .
7. Whenever the inflatable restraint passenger presence system or any component of the passenger presence system is removed. Refer to Control Module References .

Procedure

1. Disengage the J-channel retainers from the seat cushion frame.
2. Disconnect any or all electrical connectors, if equipped.
3. Remove the seat cushion cover and pad from the seat cushion frame as an assembly.
4. Remove the hog rings retaining the cover to the pad.
5. Pull the cover away from the pad to disengage the retainers.
6. When replacing the front passenger seat cushion, you must also replace the inflatable restraint passenger presence system. Refer to Airbag Front Passenger Presence Module Replacement
