DTC C0657 Or C0658: Level Control Compressor Circuit Malfunction: Notes
- Perform diagnostic system check. See DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK . After performing diagnostic system check, go to next step.
- Install scan tool. Turn ignition switch on. Using scan tool, command ALC Relay ON and OFF. If ALC relay turns on and off with each command, go to DIAGNOSTIC AIDS . If ALC relay does not turn on and off with each command, go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch off. Disconnect ALC relay harness connector. Turn ignition switch on. Using a test light connected to a good ground, probe coil side feed circuit of ALC relay harness connector. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step 10 .
- Connect test light between ALC relay coil feed side and control circuit. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Using scan tool, command ALC relay on and off. If test light turns on and off with each command, Go to step 8 . If test light does not turn on and off with each command, go to next step.
- If test light remained illuminated with each on and off command, go to step 7 . If test light did not remain on with each on and off command, go to next step.
- Check ALC relay control circuit for an open. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If an open was found and repaired, go to step 13 . If an open was not found, go to step 9 .
- Check ALC relay control circuit for a short to ground. If a short to ground was found and repaired, go to step 13 . If a short to ground was not found, go to step 9 .
- Check ALC relay harness connector for a poor connection. If a poor connection was found and repaired, go to step 13 . If a poor connection was not found, go to step 11 .
- Check suspension control module harness connector for a poor connection. If a poor connection was found and repaired, go to step 13 . If a poor connection was not found, go to step 12 .
- Repair ALC relay coil side feed circuit. If circuit repair is complete, go to step 13 .
- Replace ALC relay. If replacement is complete, go to step 13 .
- Replace suspension control module. See ESC/CVRSS CONTROL MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Calibrate NEW control module. See CALIBRATING ESC/CVRSS CONTROL MODULE under ADJUSTMENTS. If replacement is complete, go to next step.
- Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Operate vehicle under normal driving conditions. If DTC resets, go to step 2 . If DTC does not reset, system is okay.
