Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  2. Remove the oil level indicator tube. Refer to Oil Level Indicator Tube Replacement .
  3. Remove the drivetrain and front suspension frame . Refer to Drivetrain and Front Suspension Frame Replacement .

  5. Loosen the (A/C) compressor nut (1).
  6. Loosen the (A/C) compressor bolt (2).
  7. Remove the lower A/C compressor bolt (3).

  9. Place a suitable drain pan under the oil pan drain plug.
  10. Remove the oil pan drain plug (1).
  11. Drain the engine oil.
  12. Install a new oil pan plug gasket (2).
  13. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  14. Install the oil pan drain plug (1) and tighten to 25 N.m (18 lb ft)

  16. Remove the oil pan to transaxle bolts (1).

  18. Remove the oil pan bolts (1).
  19. Remove the oil pan. (2).
  20. Remove any old oil pan sealant
