Installation Procedure

  1. Position the intake manifold (4) and hand start the studs (3).

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  2. Hand start the intake manifold nuts and bolts then tighten the nuts and bolts in sequence to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  3. Install the intake manifold insulator (2).
  4. Install the insulator bolt and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
  5. Install the fuel rail harness connector bracket (1) to the intake manifold. Tighten the bracket bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  6. Install new seal washers to the compressor hose. Refer to Air Conditioning System Seal Replacement .
  7. Install the compressor hose (2) to the compressor.
  8. Install the compressor hose nut (1) to the compressor and tighten the nut to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).
  9. Connect the engine harness electrical connector as necessary.

  10. Install the fuel pump insulator (2) and cover (3). Refer to Fuel Pump Cover Replacement .
    11. NOTE:

    The low pressure fuel pipe used is model dependent.

  11. Install the low pressure fuel pipe assembly (1).

  12. Install a new throttle body gasket.
  13. Install the throttle body (1). Refer to Throttle Body Assembly Replacement .

  14. Install the EVAP canister valve tube (1).
  15. Connect the MAP sensor electrical connector.

    CAUTION:

    Never attempt to remove the intake manifold from a hot engine, allow the engine to cool to ambient temperature. The intake manifold can be damaged if it is removed when the engine is hot.

  16. Install the intake manifold cover (1). Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement 
  17. Recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  18. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
